The herb's smoky woody fragrance refreshes, restores and tones. Is a strong astringent useful for refreshing and caring for oily and blemished skin. Acts as an anti-perspirant and natural deodorant. Properties: Antispasmodic, Astringent, Diuretic, and Expectorant Uses: For treating Asthma, Bronchitis, Cough, Edema, Hemorrhoids, Menopause Symptoms, Menstrual Symptoms, Muscle and Nerve Tension, Oily Skin and/or Hair and Rheumatism Combines well with Citrus oils, Juniper, Lavender A few common blends: Cypress oil can help fight excessive perspiration. This could be in the form of a bath or a skin lotion. Use the same preparation as for a massage, but use one of the better base oils for the skin, such as Jojoba, Avocado or Apricot Kernel. To treat Hemorrhoids, add 5 drops Cypress and 5 drops Lavender to an 8 oz bottle of Witch Hazel. Add 1-2 T. aloe vera gel if desired. Shake contents before each use. Dampen cotton pad wih this blend and gently pat on the affected area. This would help in shrinking, soothing, and healing the swollen areas. Use after each bowel movement, and any time you experience symptoms. Contraindications: Best avoided during pregnancy.
