BREATHING FOR CELLULITE TREATMENT

Oxygen available in our body is the great purifier of the bloodstream in the body. But to meet the continuous demand of oxygen our lungs must find fresh air regularly.

On the contrary we are almost everywhere, like on the roads, at our wok places and even in our residential areas, surrounded with -
Exhaust fumes, Factory smoke, Dust particles and Polluted air Therefore today it has become even more important that we should at least try to make the best of the available air by learning how to breathe properly.

Every morning before doing the physical exercise you should practice complete breathing exercises. The breathing exercises take the purifying oxygen into the innermost organs of the body. Thus proper breathing not only helps but also equips us to fight against the cellulite.
Basic Mechanism Of Breathing

The basic mechanism of breathing helps us achieve a fuller airing of the lungs. So let us understand this mechanism through which we breathe -
  • Abdominal Breathing: By inflating the stomach
  • Thoracic Breathing: By dilating the chest

In the process of 'Abdominal breathing' the muscles of diaphragm are lowered. Diaphragm is the partition that separates the chest from the abdomen. This lowering diminishes the capacity of the abdomen as compared to the thorax. It also swells the stomach by compressing the intestines and thus gives the lungs more room to expand.

The women usually breathe only with the chest and that too only with its upper part. They rarely use stomach while breathing. But the proper breathing as well as the breathing exercises essentially involve whole of the chest and the stomach.
Breathing Exercises
The breathing exercises should be done standing up. It ensures the free movement of the diaphragm and also makes sure that the expansion of thorax is not hindered in anyway.

Breathing In
Once you are in the right position to start the breathing exercises then -
  • Start with breathing gently.
  • First inflate the upper part of the thorax.
  • Then move the arms to the horizontal and then slightly backwards.
  • Continue breathing in with the shoulders well back.
  • Do not stop breathing in until your stomach is fully distended.
  • The complete breathing in process in all its successive stages, should take 6 seconds, and 12 seconds in case you are trim.
Breathing Out
Breathing out should be done slowly. You should -
  • Start it by first collapsing the upper part of the chest and then the lower part.
  • And you should end it by contracting the stomach.
  • At the same time you should also lower the arms, the shoulder and the head being bent slightly forward.
  • Also let your back slightly arched so as to empty the chest completely.
  • The process of breathing out should last almost as long as the process of breathing in.
Conditions For Breathing Exercises
To do the breathing exercises properly you should take care of the following conditions. These conditions should not be ignored as its ignorance may lead to adverse effects of this exercise.

1. The duration for doing these breathing movements should be -
  • At least 3 minutes
  • 3 times a day
But one can do these exercises for even a longer duration depending upon one 's capacity and will.

2. A person who is trimmer can do the following -
  • Do the exercise kneeling with the hands clasped behind the nape of your neck.
  • While breathing out sit on your heels and lean forward till your forehead is touching your knees, hands still clasped behind your neck.
  • Ideally this exercise should be done while walking in the open air, holding the breath for 4 to 5 second before breathing out.

These breathing exercises on the one hand help to rid the system of poisons and on the other hand in receding the cellulite.
