BLACKHEADS

Blackheads are caused by the overactive sebaceous or the oil producing glands of the body. The primary cause of blackheads cannot be eliminated, so it is that condition of the skin that cannot be cured but only be prevented.

FORMATION OF BLACKHEADS
Due to the over activeness of the sebaceous gland, excess oil is secreted and this excess oil expands and thickens the pores of the skin. The oil gets accumulated in the pores and this thick oil clogs the pores. Since the pores are open, the tip of the clogged grease gets exposed to air and dirt and hence it attracts the dirt and grime from the environment. Consequently, skin texture becomes coarse and rough.

Blackheads appear not only on the face but also on the other areas that are rich in sebaceous glands. Blackheads are the primary cause of acne; infact the primary acne lesion is a blackhead.
