PAMPER YOUR FACE WITH MASKS

This article throws light now what is a face mask, how to apply face mask, choosing a face mask and duration of applying a face mask.

However chiselled your facial features, it is the skin complexion that lends an aura of beauty to the face. Though many face packs are available in the market, many women still prefer homemade concoctions.

WHAT IS A FACIAL MASK
A facial mask is essentially a paste composed of many components that spread over the face for a while and then rinsed off. The purpose of using a facemask is manifold. It clears the pores and generally rejuvenates the skin.

Depending on the ingredients, the mask tightens skin, exfoliates dead skin cells and adds radiance to the face. Many masks even remove the tan caused by the sun's ultraviolet rays.

HOME MADE MASKS
Facial masks can be made at home also. Such masks are more ideal because you are assured of good quality of ingredients that you put in them. Nowadays, you get facial masks in tubes but avoid using unknown brands.

In case you are making a homemade mask, ensure that the fruit, vegetable or any other constituent is of good quality, well washed and dried thoroughly before use, and that mask is stored in a clean container. Most pastes can be stocked in the refrigerator safely for at least a fortnight. If it smells rancid or spoilt, chuck it away. Discard it if you notice a fungus forming on it.

If you are using some branded facemask, then check the carton for the list of the ingredients to see if you are allergic to them. Also check for the expiry date. Store it in a clean place and follow the instructions meticulously.

DURATIOM OF APPLYING
A mask is ideally retained for at least an hour. After that, wipe off the excess with clean cotton swabs, and rinse face thoroughly in warm water. Finally splash cold water and pat dry.

How do you prepare your face for the mask? Always ensure that your face is clean and does not have any make-up residue. If your skin is dry, you can use a cloth that has been dipped in hot water and then wrung out to wipe your face. This will open the pores and allow the goodness of the mask to be absorbed well. Do not use this treatment if you have oily skin, for it may cause the eruption of pimples.

HOW TO APPLY A FACE MASK
Tie your hair firmly before doing the facial. Apply the mask paste with clean fingers or spatula. Avoid putting it on the area around your eyes. Do not let the paste touch your hair and do not roughly massage the mask on your face. The paste should be firm and evenly applied.

CHOOSING A FACIAL MASK
Before you decide to make and use a facial mask, you must assess your skin condition. Choose a facemask that soothes your face, invigorate the complexion and makes it bloom. The mask should not irritate or worsen a problem any way.
