Hair Plopping Technique

Plopping is a hair drying technique which if perform correctly results in soft, smooth, shiny, well-defined curls and waves. People with curly hair should try it to enhance their curls. Following is the correct method of performing it.



  • It involves removing excess moisture before drying and diffusing the hair.
  • First, shampoo your hair nicely.
  • After shower hold your hair with towel to prevent water dripping.
  • Then kneel down on floor. Keep the towel in front of you.
  • Bend over the towel so that they fall onto the towel.
  • Keep waving your head for some time so that the hair plop on the towel.
  • Then wrap the hair with towel so that the sides are tight.
  • Then roll either side of the towel to form equal rolls.
  • Use a huge claw clip to hold the sides together.
  • Don't tie both the sides together on the head. It results into split ends.
  • After removing the towel gently shake the curls.
  • One can use a long finger diffuser to add volume at the roots.
  • One can experiment by applying different styling or setting products.
  • If you are not satisfied with the result next time replace the towel with an old t-shirt.
