CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHOES FOR EXERCISING

Shoes play a very vital role in our day to day life whether we exercise or not. They play a still more important role if we are exercising because all along they are doing the job of supporting our whole body. This article will take you through the steps which will help you in identifying the right type of exercising shoe for yourself. It will take you through the nuances of issues related with this task.

In today's health conscious world the importance of Exercising has increased over the years. People have started working out systematically. They have identified the right type of exercise for themselves and are spiritually abiding by its schedule. But in all this planning and scheduling they tend to undermine the importance of shoes. They tend to forget that the very shoe they are taking for granted is the instrument used by them which is handling their entire weight through jogging, trekking, bicycling etc.

So it won't be wrong to say that the success of these exercises depends upon the quality and viability of the shoe. We should pay more attention towards the requirement of our feet. To start with we first of all should understand the following thing about our feet:
  • Size of our feet.
  • Pronation of our feet (over, under , neutral)
  • Special characteristics such as flat feet etc.
Once we have done this we need to analyze our requirement for e.g.: For running you need shoes with sufficient cushioning and grip, while for weight exercises you need shoes with proper support etc.

Once decided about these factors we can actually get down to following basic and general points for buying our shoes
  • The shoes should always be comfortable and well cushioned.
  • In case of jogging try to buy shoes with a bigger toe case or buy a shoe of one size bigger than yours.
  • Shoe should be of a material which allows passage of air in and out of the shoe properly.
  • The shoe should be light in weight and of good quality.
  • Point to remember is that a better price tag does not certify a better shoe, so try your shoe before buying it.
So now when you go to buy a pair of exercising shoes for yourself just remember these points which will help you in buying a better pair of exercising shoes.
