This article provides information about a diet suitable for gallstones. Epsom Salt Diet For Gallstones effective for severe cases of gallstones. Gallstones Diet
Gallstones are the amount of stagnant bile lodged in our gall bladder. Usually all of us have it in little amount, particularly those who are over 30 years. It keeps accumulating there in our bodies in the form of junk. We come to know about this junk only when it becomes severe and causes pain or some other symptoms appear. Then only we realize it and rush to the doctors who then take us into an irreversible operation. But that stage could certainly be avoided by trying the Epsom salt diet that clears your gall bladder of all its stones.
Epsom Salt Diet Epsom salt diet is basically 1 1/2-day diet and it is very effective for those with severe cases of gallstones. It is also an excellent and equally effective preventive for everyone to ensure a healthy gall bladder and liver. Please be warned that despite being taken only for 36 hours, and working wonderfully it is not that easy. Those skeptical can actually see the gallstones once they come out. After they are removed even bloated tummies recede and the person feels much more energized than before. For this diet, you need to have 2 small packets of Epsom salt (easily available at chemists) and some olive oil. Day 1 As you wake up in the morning, drink a couple of glasses of filtered or boiled water to flush the system. Until 2 pm you can eat as much as you want but only if there is no fat intake at all. Also avoid tea and coffee since they typically contain milk and sugar. To avoid fat means you should eat only plain, steamed or boiled vegetables. You may find this kind of food tasteless but you will have to do it for the sake of your bladder. Fruits are always good for your health but in case of gallstones citrus fruits should be avoided. It includes fruits such as lemon, orange, sweet lime, etc. After 2 pm, do not take anything for eating; even avoid having water till 6 pm. In this duration you should prepare the liquid by adding 3-heaped teaspoons of Epsom salt to 4 8-oz glasses of water. Stir the solution well. This is very bitter in taste. You can take it slightly chilled by keeping the liquid in the fridge until it is cool. At 6 pm, drink the first glass of Epsom water. At 8 pm, drink the second. This concoction will relax your insides and allow the lodged bile to become loose. The next 'tasty cocktail' comes at around 10 pm. After drinking this next one you should not move around. Pour 4 oz of olive oil in a glass; then add the juice of one lemon to it and drink up. If you find it yucky in taste you can drink it fast. You can also suck on a lemon to get rid of the oily taste in your mouth. Just after that go to bed and lie down there in such a way that your upper body is a little higher than your lower body. This position of your body would let the olive oil push all the junk into your intestines so that it might be released. Sometimes you may get the urge to go to the loo immediately but usually it starts early the next morning. Day 2 On day 2 too you should not have anything to eat until 12 pm. However at 8 am you have to drink the 3rd glass of Epsom water. After this, you might need start running to the loo and consequently seeing green pebble-like things in your toilet bowl. They might resemble peas; sometimes they are even bigger than that. Your motions will be very loose, but do not be concerned at all. This is the Epsom salt working and once you have been cleaned out everything will return to normal. At 10 am it is time to have the 4th and final glass of Epsom water. You should drink some warm water also as by now slight dehydration may occur due to the frequent and very loose motions. At 12 pm, you may return to normal food and life, but remember it is best to break a fast with something light. It would give your system little time to readjust. After that you can have a full wholesome meal. As a preventive measure this diet is recommended once a year.
