Nails problems occur at some point and so here are some common nail problems and ailments to check out. NAIL PROBLEMS
BACTERIA: It is often referred to as mold. It leaves a green, greenish-black or yellowish stain on the nail. This bacterium survives in moist and warm areas. If the artificial has not been properly fixed, then moisture gets trapped in between the layers and due to this, there is a risk of infection.
BLACK OR PURPULISH COLOR: This can be linked to a liver disease and even a traumatic injury. But this heals after the complete recovery from the injury. BITING HABIT: To refrain from the biting habit, color the nail with an awful tasting polish. Also, alternatively, you can go for a good manicure that will make your nails look really good and thus prevent you from biting your nails. BRITTLE OR DRY NAILS: Easy peeling of the nails at the edges, breakage and layering are the symptoms. Exposure to the harsh chemicals found in the cleansing agents, frequent immersion of fingers in water or lack of zinc and essential fatty acids are the reasons that cause it. FUNGUS INFECTION: Loosening of the skin plate, itching, blisters and pain are common symptoms of this infection. It is caused by the fungal infection related to mold, yeast and mildew. This is also caused due to the sharing of the footwear. CLUBBING: This has been related to the lung and heart diseases that cause the depletion of oxygen in blood. Due to this, the nails become rounded and enlarged. PALE COLOR: Due to lack of iron and improper and under active blood circulation, the color of the nails is lighter than the accompanying skin. For this, consume more whole grains and green leafy vegetables. HANG NAIL: Due to the frequent exposure to water and due to the lack of vitamin B and C in the diet, a tiny dead skin lingers next to the fingernail. Don't pull this dead skin, trim it carefully. Apply moisturizing lotion. Consume foods rich in vitamin B such as brown rice and green leafy vegetables and foods rich in vitamin C like citrus foods and peppers. WARTS: The skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus family. Periungual warts grow around and under the fingernails. INGROWN NAIL: It results due to the curving of the corners of the nail into the skin on the side of the toe. WHITISH SPOTS: It is caused due to the lack of consumption of zinc or due to excessive consumption of sugars. Consume more of whole grains, seafood, pecans and meat as these are rich in zinc and cut the intake of sugars. YELLOW STAINS: Due to over use of nail polish and due to smoking, yellow stains are caused. Also linked with diabetes and liver problems. This can be prevented by giving the nails a polish free break and stop smoking. RIDGES: These can appear vertically or horizontally and result due to sever stress. These are also due to poor nutritional value and poor iron deficiency. |
