Flavorsome and easy to prepare spinach soup with margarine, white stock and corn flour.

Spinach Soup Recipe

Ingredients:
1 lb. spinach
1pint white stock
1 oz. butter or margarine
1/2 pint milk
1 tsp full cornflour
pepper and salt

How to make {actual-title}:
  • Wash the spinach in several lots of water, then cook in its own moisture and rub through a sieve.
  • Bring the stock to the boil.
  • Make the cornflour into a smooth paste with the milk, add it to the stock and again bring to the boil.
  • Then add the butter or margarine and seasoning.
  • At the last moment, add the puree of spinach and remove from the fire the moment it boils or the colour of the soup will be spoiled.
  • Serve with Puffed Rice heated in the oven.
  • A little cream greatly improves the flavour.
